Irish sqauad for Aachen 2011 announced

Team Ireland Equestrian's show jumping manager Robert Splaine has named his squad for the Aachen Natons Cup clash.

Dermott Lennon and Hallmark Elite
Denis Lynch and Lantinus
Shane Sweetnam and Amaretto Darco
Billy Twomey and Tinka's Serenade

Aachen is traditionally regarded as the toughest test of the top level Nations Cup league and Ireland pulled-off a win there in 2010, with Dermott, Denis and Billy on that victorious team.

This year's two-round competition is due to start at 6.30pm GMT on Thursday, 14 July.

Ireland currently holds second place in the Nations Cup top-level league, which features the world's top eight show jumping nations and which will finish in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on 26 August 2011. Netherlands currently lead the table with 29.5 points against Ireland's 24.
