Tina Fletcher wins South of England Stairway

Oxfordshire-based Tina Fletcher today took the top spot in the British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway at the South of England County Show.

With seven combinations making it through to the jump-off and Tina being drawn first to go, she knew she had to give it her all and put her foot on the accelerator from the word go. This is exactly what she did and managed to put in a foot perfect clear in a time of 44.31 seconds, which proved to be unbeatable. Tina partnered her husband Graham's 16-year-old brown gelding Promised Land, a horse she partnered to second place in the 2010 Hickstead Derby.

The winner
“I am so delighted, this is our first proper show of the year and to come out and win is unbelievable," said Tina. "I am so very pleased with him. He is such a talented horse with a huge stride which I knew I could use to my advantage. The next show I will be targeting is the Hickstead Derby.”

Phillip Miller narrowly missed out on first place jumping clear in a time of 44.63 seconds, a fraction slower than Tina. Phillip partnered Di  and Pennie Cornish’s 10-year-old bay stallion Univeau.
