British team for Drammen announced

Next week Simon Crippen, Joe Clayton, Daniel Neilson and David McPherson travel to Norway to compete in the Drammen CSI*** Nations Cup (16 – 19 June)

Buckinghamshire’s Simon Crippen and Alo & Andrew Brake’s nine-year-old chestnut stallion Voss will be making their second appearance at this level. This combination recently took first place in the PCA class at the Welsh Masters.

Joe Clayton, 21, is originally from Humberside but is currently based at Michael Whitaker's yard in Nottinghamshire. Joe will ride his own 12-year-old bay gelding Saveur who he rode in Copenhagen Nations Cup. Joe and Saveur were members of the Tretorn Young Rider European Championship Team last year in Jardy, France.

British Showjumping’s number one young rider Daniel Neilson, who is based in Essex with Jason and Katrina Moore, will ride Celia Mason’s nine-year-old liver chestnut gelding Varo M. Varo M will be making his debut at this level.

Kent-based David McPherson and his own 10-year-old ygrey stallion Leonitas completes the team. David has a wealth of having competed at both European Championship and World Equestrian Games level. He won European team bronze in 2007. David recently won Devon County's British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway. Leonitas will also be making his debut on a British team.

The Nations Cup will take place on Saturday, 18 June with the Grand Prix on Sunday, 19 June.
