Royal Windsor Horse Show continues to thrive as entries remain high

Her Majesty The Queen leads the way!

Royal Windsor Horse Show (11-15 May) is less than two weeks away and organisers are pleased to report that entries are thriving.

More than 2725 entries have been received in the 150+ classes on offer at Windsor. Not one to be left out, Her Majesty The Queen has entered her horses and ponies into more classes than ever before – 14 to be exact.
Show Director Simon Brooks-Ward said: “We seem to be bucking the trend a bit in terms of entries. Where many shows are reporting low numbers, we have exceeded target and are delighted that competitors still seem to love coming to Royal Windsor Horse Show.”

Show jumpers Laura Kraut, Robert Whitaker, Tim Stockdale, Geoff Billington, Tina Fletcher, Pippa Funnell, Tim Gredley and Mark Armstrong all have horses entered into the five day Show, which culminates with The Alltech Royal Windsor Grand Prix on Sunday 15th May.

A particularly well received class, brand new for this year is the Inter Schools Show Jumping competition. 26 Schools will compete at Royal Windsor on Saturday afternoon. Show Secretary Penny Henderson said: “We were overwhelmed with the response for this brand new competition.”

As well as a packed programme of top class show jumping, which this year welcomes back the Land Rover Six Bar Stakes on Saturday afternoon, the Show also boasts over 120 Showing classes including 20 Showing Championships, four days of thrilling Driving action with the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix and entertainment and displays galore including The Shetland Pony Grand National, The Household Cavalry Best turned Out Trooper supported by Alltech and the DAKS Pony Club Games.

Newly launched this year is also the Royal Windsor Food and Shopping Festival, containing over 200 shops and places to eat, including a World Food Pavillion where you can sample food from across the world.
