David McPherson and Chamberlain Z's victory in the opening Grand Prix of the 2011 Spanish Sunshine Tour has been voted British Showjumping's Performance of the Month February.

David and Ansgar and Ellen Holtgers' 10-year-old grey gelding were one of only three combinations, all British, from 51 starters to go double clear, taking victory from fellow British combos Robert Whitaker and USA Today and William Funnell with Billy Angelo.

"It gives me great pleasure to award the February Performance of the Month to Chamberlain Z; Ansgar and Ellen Holtgers, and David McPherson, for their fantastic win in the Sunshine Tour Grand Prix," said British Showjumping’s international committee chairman Clare Whitaker. "My congratulations go to them and their hard working team."

Patrick Riley of Zamar TTT, sponsors of the Performance Award, added: "A super fast double clear ended in triumph for David McPherson and Chamberlain Z. Congratulations to them both and to Ellen and Ansgar Holtgers for this superb performance."
