"The selection process was slightly changed this time and carried on over a longer period allowing applicants to be viewed ‘in competition’," said World Class Performance Director Will Connell. "The standard of rider applying was higher than ever and the selectors had a difficult job. But that’s excellent news for us as a nation as it reflects the wealth of talent that we are fortunate to have."
The World Class Development Programme underpins World Class Performance and together with the Equine Pathway makes up the Equestrian World Class Programme. It incorporates the three Olympic sports of dressage, eventing, show jumping and the paralympic sport of para-equestrian dressage.
The programme has been funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, through Exchequer and National Lottery funds, via UK Sport since 1998.
