With a tricky course and a lot of faulters, the Prix Equidia was a quite challenging class for its 29 starters.

After France's Simon Delestre and his speedy Orphée de l’Illon jumped a clear round, the specatators believed he would again claim victory as he did the day before. But then came Britain's Micheal Whitaker with Simon II.

The pair managed to do even shorter and quicker turns, beating the French couple by 0.84 seconds.

"Simon is a remarkable horse because of his versatility," said Michael. "He did very well two weeks ago in Amsterdam. He can win speed classes as well as 1.55m Grand Prix classes. He recently ran in the World Cup in Toronto without any problem."
