Michael Whitaker wins Amsterdam BMC Grand Prix

Michael Whitaker headed the Amsterdam BMC Grand Prix this afternoon with Beatrice Mertens' GIG Amai after an eight-horse jump-off.

Ireland's Denis Lynch (Abbervail van het Dingeshof) was the first of six riders to jump double clear, but his target time of 37.77 seconds was soon beaten by The Netherlands' Marc Houtzager (HBC Tamino). Marc himself was then beaten by fellow Dutchman Eric van der Vleuten (VDL Groep Utascha SFN), who completed in 36.98 seconds.

However, Michael found an further 0.5 seconds on course to take first in the four-star Grand Prix.
