Equine pathway viewing days

British Showjumping members are invited to present their young horses to the Equine Pathway Team for assessment with a view to joining the Equine Pathway at the following viewing day:

Tuesday, 4th January 2011 at Wellington Riding, Heckfield, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 0LJ

Horses will be viewed in a training environment by a minimum of two members of the Pathway Team. The team will be looking for soundness, rideability, temperament and technique in horses who meet the minimum criteria guidelines detailed below. British Showjumping Competition Rules will apply.

In order to attend the Viewing Days horses must be registered with British Showjumping and meet the following minimum criteria:

Four-year-olds
Will only be viewed from the 1 September in their fourth year.
Must be able to walk, trot and canter freely forward and jump a 90cm course comfortably.

Five-year-olds
Must be able to walk, trot and canter freely, do a simple change and jump a 1m course comfortably.

Six-year-olds
Must be able to walk, trot and canter freely, do a simple change and jump a 1.10m course comfortably.

Seven-year-olds
Must be able to walk, trot and canter freely, do a simple change and jump a 1.20m course comfortably.

Eight-year-olds
Must be able to walk, trot and canter freely, do a simple change and jump a 1.30m course comfortably.

*Minimum criteria guidelines must be met unless there are extenuating circumstances which have prevented the horse from competing at the levels detailed above, such as: broodmares who have been out of competition for breeding purposes, horses who have been out of work due to injury etc. If these extenuating circumstances apply to any of your horses, please include a brief description with your application.

Places are restricted and allocated on a first come first served basis. Applications must be made in writing to jane.bird@britishshowjumping.co.uk stating the name and age of horse(s) & British Showjumping registration number(s).

Applications for the Wellington Riding Viewing day close at 5pm on Friday, 17 December 2010. All applicants will be contacted during the week commencing Monday, 20 December.
