Personal notes: War horse is coming to Olympia

One of the things I never seem to have is time to go out and do stuff like a "normal" person. You know the type, the ones that don't spend their lives at shows. So I was thrilled to discover that I'll be able to get a sneak preview of one of the things on my to do list at Olympia this year.

I've been wanting to go and see War Horse at the New London Theatre for a while now, and get jealous when friends tell me how wonderful it is and how I'll have to take a stack of tissues with me when I finally do see it.

The actors in War Horse use life-size puppets of horses, which I am told are so life like that by the end of the performance you forget there are people operating them.

At Olympia, the War Horse performers will be getting involved with the Christmas finale. I'm usually dashing back to the press office and only catch a glimpse of the finale through the boxes as I march, but I this year I'll be hovering round the balcony to make sure I get a good look at what's going on in the arena.

Perhaps I should carry a hanky with me just in case!
