BS update following EGM on 20 September 2010

From BS

The EGM, which was called with an objective of modernising the sport, did not receive the required level of support to implement the change.

Iain Graham, chief executive for British Showjumping commented: "Although gaining the support of the majority of members, we fell short of the 75% required to adopt the proposed changes. The board still feel strongly that this is the correct and right thing to do. It is with this in mind that ongoing communication at both area and regional level will take place so as to ensure the membership understand the proposal fully and give them an opportunity to feedback suggestions."
