Personal notes: Farewell Naomi V

Helen Tredwell and Naomi V
I was very saddened to hear that Helen Tredwell's Naomi V had to be put to sleep this morning due to muscular complications after undergoing surgery for a broken pastern.

Having spoken to Helen last night, it seemed there was a good chance that, although she'd not compete again, Naomi would pull through and would be able to become a brood mare.

When I heard the news this afternoon, I was devastated for Helen. Naomi has been a good servant and often gave Helen's top horse Opportunity B a run for her money.

I enjoyed watching Naomi nip round a course and the way she'd flip her tail in the air like an Arab as she took off over a fence. I for one will certainly miss seeing her on the circuit.
