The 11-year-old mare suffered her injury during Thursday's area trial and was transported to Cotts Farm Equine Veterinary Hospital.
"It was fortunate that there was a very good equine hospital nearby," said Helen.
"She has had pins put in and it's going to be a long road, but the vets say she is over one of the biggest hurdles."
Naomi, who currently sits second on the International Stairway points league after finishing fifth in Pembrokeshire's leg the day before the incident, will have to spend a long period at Cotts Farm during her recovery before she is able to be travel back to Helen's Buckinghamshire base.
"She will probably stay for a bit with Sian Price [who is based in Gwent] before she comes back to us," said Helen. "She won't be able to jump again, but, hopefully, we will be able to breed from her."
