Joli Coeur passes away

Joli Coeur, the great partner of Germany's Franke Sloothaak, has been put to sleep following an incident of colic. He was 25 years old.

The chestnut son of Major de la Cour won an Olympic team gold medal in Atlanta 1996 and a World Equestrian Games team gold and individual bronze in Rome 1998. He was the winner of numerous Grands Prix and one of Germany's most successful horses ever. His career winnings are over €1,000,000.

There is a tribute to Joli Coeur, written in German, on Franke's website
