Bruce Menzies and Old Lodge's Sultan V’s superb victory in the Cushionbed National Championship class has been voted Performance of the Month for September.

The pair jumped the only treble clear round of the competition to snatch the victory and the 2010 National Champion title.

The Performance of the Month Award is an amalgamation of the former Show Jumper and Owner of the Month Awards, and recognises the achievements of not just riders, but horses and owners, too.

Chairman of Performance Development at British Showjumping, Clare Whitaker said: "It gives me great pleasure to award the September Performance of the Month to Sultan V, Old Lodge and Bruce Menzie for their incredible win in the Cushionbed National Championship class. My congratulations go to them and their hard working team."

Patrick Riley of Zamar TTT, sponsors of the Performance Award, added: "At 1.60m, this jump-off was massive, being first to go must have been extremely daunting. Many congratulations to Bruce and Sultan V and hats off to Old Lodge."
