Ireland is entitled to nominate one rider for each of the 13 qualifying rounds in the Western European league. Ireland has also secured invitations to send a rider to the qualifiers in Syracuse, USA, and Toronto, Canada.
The selections are:
LYON - Shane Breen
VERONA - Billy Twomey
SYRACUSE - Dermott Lennon
TORONTO - Dermott Lennon
STUTTGART - Billy Twomey
GENEVA - Denis Lynch
OLYMPIA - Cian O'Connor
MECHELEN - Cameron Hanley
"My selections for World Cup nominations are, for the most part, allocated to riders who have supported the Irish Meydan Nations Cup teams during the year," said Robert. "However, because of the high profile of Irish riders internationally, I am sure that there are World Cup shows on this list that will issue personal invitations to other Irish riders, aside from those that have been selected.
"Also, Jessica Kurten will receive an invitation to all of the European qualifiers that take place in the latter part of 2010 by virtue of the fact she was listed in the world's top 10 riders in the August Rolex World Jumping rankings."
The World Cup is the world's premier indoor show jumping tournament and the final of the current series will be held at Leipzig, Germany, 27 April - 1 May 2011.
Selections for the remaining shows in the series, which take place in early 2011, will be announced in due course.
