The Irish squad that will take part in the World University Equestrian Championships (WUEC), which take place from 28 October to 2 November 2nd at Sangju, Republic of Korea, has been named.
The championships are for both dressage and show jumping with 20 nations competing.
The Irish squad, selected by team trainer Sue Shortt and chef d’equipe Natalie Quinlivan, is Nicola Fitzgibbon, Ben Crawford, Sara Glynn and Suzie Cave is reserve.
Ben returns to the WUEC as the reigning World Universities Show Jumping Champion alongside former National Show Jumping Champion Nicola Fitzgibbon, fresh off the back of her successful trip to Spruce Meadows, Canada with the Senior Nations Cup Team.
Sara Glynn of Killossery Stud travels as the reigning National University Dressage Champion, while former University Show Jumping Champion Suzie Cave completes the team.
The Irish Student Riders have had a very successful year on the Nations Cup circuit, leaving them frontrunners to retain the President’s Cup and overall leading nation title for a second year in a row.
