Calvados Z dies at Oslo Horse Show

Calvados Z, ride of Germany's Christian Ahlmann, died after jumping at the Oslo Horse Show on 17 October 2010.

The nine-year-old stallion, who was bought by Christian's sponsor Marion Jauss a year ago, appeared to be unsettled after competing and a vet was called. However, despite best efforts, the vet was unable to help the son of Chellano Z and he died.

The cause of death has not yet been established, but rumours suggest that a problem with the aorta my be responsible. A full post-mortem has been requested by Christian, whose World Cup qualifier win on Taloubet Z was overshadowed by this tragic incident.
