Team USA won the $350,000 BMO Nations Cup at the Spruce Meadows Masters tournament in front of a record crowd of 69,000 on Saturday, 11 September.
Eight team started over Leopoldo Palacios's course, which featured 15 jumping efforts.
"I thought it was a beautiful course," said Beezie Madden, a member of the winning team. "It tested everyone, yet was fair to the less experienced riders."
The victorious team (Rich Fellers and Flexible 4/0, Ashlee Bond and Cadett 7 8/ret, Richard Spooner and Cristallo 4/4, Beezie Madden and Coral Reef Via Volo 0/5) finished on a score of 17 points ahead of Ireland on 22.
"I was very happy to have this team, they all know this venue. They're all great riders with great horses," said the USA's chef d’equipe George Morris.
The win was the sixth for the United States in the 33-year history of the BMO Nations Cup.
