Dermott Lennon and Hallmark Elite have been announced as the fourth combination for the Irish Alltech WEG show jumping team.
The completed team also includes Denis Lynch (Lantinus or Nebab's Son), Cian O'Connor (K Club Lady) and Billy Twomey (Je t'aime Flamenco or Tinka's Serenade).
Speaking at a press conference at the Irish Army Equitation School this afternoon, Irish show jumping team manager Robert Splaine pointed out that this was the same four riders who made up the winning Meydan Nations Cup team in Aachen this July.
Dermott and Hallmark Elite had a very good result in the Madrid Grand Prix on Saturday, which indicates a return to form for the combination," said Robert. "If we can replicate the performance [we gave in Aachen], we will be extremely competitive at the World Championships."
One of the major aims for Team Ireland is to finish in the top five (excluding Team GBR) in Kentucky to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
"Olympic qualification is the main goal, but if we can perform on the day we can beat anyone, as we proved in Aachen," Robert added.
