Unex, owners of Towerlands, have decided to close the venue to equestrian events this October. .
Charley Nathan, who has been running events in the outdoor arenas this summer through her company Equestrian Event Ltd, has been fighting to keep the venue open. However, despite her best attempts, she has now been informed that the closure of the equine side will go ahead.
"It is the sad end of an era," she said. "I just want to say a big thank you to all who have supported us through the summer and making it such a great success. Let us just have a fantastic last few shows.
"British Showjumping have been brilliant working with us to keep Towerlands going, but, sadly, closure is still going ahead."
However, Charley is still keen to run the popular pony Halloween Show at Towerlands, subject to making a deal with UNEX.
"We need to know the show is going to be supported though in order to make an offer to postpone building work for a few weeks," she said. "However, we are also looking at an alternative venue."
If you are intending to enter the show, please email Charley charley@equestrianeventsltd.com
