Horse lameness prevents Carian Scudamore contesting individual medal

Carian Scudamore, the British representative at the Youth Olympic Games, has been unable to start the individual final in Singapore due to her horse, Mighty McGyver, becoming lame. Italy's Valentina Isoardi has also suffered the same misfortune.

Both riders were part of Team Europe, which won team gold last week.

After the first round of the individual competition, nine riders sit in first place with clear rounds from Marcelo Chirico (URU), Thomas McDermott (AUS), Mohamed Abdalla (EGY), Timur Patarov (KAZ), Dominique Shone (CAN), Guilherme Foroni (BRA), Samantha McIntosh (RSA), Wojciech Dahlke (POL) and Mario Gamboa (COL).

The second round of the individual final is on Tuesday, 24 August 2010.
